The petition of Trooper Tymothy Nuby, Adrian Scroop’s Regiment, 2 February 1649

To the Hono[ura]ble Com[mi]ttee for the Army

The humble petic[i]on of Tymothy Nuby late Sould[ie]r vnder Captaine Goddard in the Regim[en]t of Collonell Scroope

Sheweth

That yo[u]r pet[itione]r hath served the State faithfully eu[er] since the reducem[en]t of the Army to his Ex[cellen]cy ye Lord Fairfax vntill the fight with the Scots at Preston where he receiued a wound in one of his hands to the losse of his middle finger & his whole hand being very feeble, as by Certificate from Dr Trigg who cured him may appeare, & yo[u]r pet[itione]r haueing arreares due to him for his Services, & haueing been cured at his owne excessiue charges neu[er] receiueing any allowance either for himself or Cure, but is forced to go far into the Country to friends for subsistence, Being a guilder by trade is vtterly disabled to follow the same

He humbly prayes yo[u]r hono[u]rs for speedy paym[en]t of his arreares being in great want & necessity haueing nothing left wherew[i]th to subsist

And he shall pray &c.

State & pay

Att ye Com[mi]ttee of Lords & Com[m]ons for the Army 2o Febr[uary] 1648

Ordered

That ye Com[missa]ry Generall of ye Musters or his Deputy doe forthwith certify this Com[mi]ttee how ye pet[tione]r stands vpon the seu[er]all Musters of the Army & doe affix the same to this petition.
