<The Humble Petic[i]on of Simon Davies}>
To the Right Wor[shi]pp[fu]ll S[i]r John Salusbury Kn[igh]t & Baronet
In humble wise yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r sheweth and maketh knowen to your Wor[shi]ppe. That whereas hee is growen old & we weake and vnable to travell not farre to worke for his living having noe Certayne abode to repose in & is very desireous to bee yo[u]r Wor[shi]pps tenant
Therefore hee humblie prayeth yo[u]r Wor[shi]ppe to compassionate the distressed estate & Condic[i]on that hee is in and to bee soe favourable as to be graunt your good will vnto him vppon a p[ar]cell of land of the Com[m]ons of greene lleweny adioining to a Clawsure of yo[u]r wor[shi]ppes land called Maes embrie w[hi]ch hath been sometymes inclosed for to build a poore Cottage vppon wherevnto he may repose And yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r shall eu[e]r pray.
