To the Kings most Excellent Ma[jes]tie

The humble petic[i]on of Edward Hudson Clerke.

Most humbly prayeth yo[u]r Ma[jes]tie to comfort the pet[itione]r for the time wherein he hath suffered adversity, in imprisonments, in blindeness, in poverty; by bestowing vpon him the Mastership of the Hospitall of Gretam al[ia]s Greetham in the County of Dorham, and the Small Rectory of Croft in the Dioses of Chester lying onely Three Miles distant from the said Hospitall both w[hi]ch are void by death & in your Ma[jes]ties Guift.

And the Pet[itione]r (as in duty bound) will dayly pray for yo[u]r Ma[jes]ties long peaceable and prosperous Reigne over vs.
