The County Court: the petition of James Walker

Practice reading this petition:

Humbly shows that your petitioner fought in the service of Parliament in the county of Nottinghamshire. He was wounded in battle many times, losing his leg and his arm was broken and his hand slit. He was honestly employed as a tailor but is unable to work because he is so disabled.

He cannot earn money for his wife or six children and can hardly walk. He wishes not to be a burden on your worships and has sold all his worldly goods. He humbly begs that your worships will take his poor condition into your charitable consideration.

He will pray to God for your worships.
