The petition of William Sharman of Saighton, Cheshire, Easter 1672

To the Right Wors[hi]p[fu]ll his Ma[jes]tyes Justices of the Peace att their Quarter Sessions kept att Northw[i]ch for the County Palatine of Chester.
Yo[u]r humble Petic[i]oner William Sharman of Saughton in the s[ai]d County laborer.
<Humbly Sheweth.>
That whereas yo[u]r poor Petic[i]oner haueing serued his Ma[jes]ty in the late vnhappy Warres and rec[eive]d seuerall Maimes & bruises in the s[ai]d seruice w[hi]ch hath reduced him to much Necessity and render’d him a fitt object of his Ma[jes]tyes Charity & Pension most gratiously confer’d upon his poor Souldiers (as appears by a Certificats vpon the file vnder the respectiue hands of his Ma[jes]tyes Justices of Broxton hundred w[i]thin the s[ai]d County) And that there is now a Vacancy by the Death of one of the Pension[e]rs in the s[ai]d hundred
Yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]r humbly begs yo[u]r Wors[hi]pps Order that he may be admitted a Pensioner in the said Desed[en]ts plase and yo[u]r Petic[i]oner as in Duty bound shall euer pray &c.
