To his Ma[jes]ties Justices of the peace for the County of Devon, in gen[er]all sessions assembled att the Castle of Exon
These
The humble pet[itio]n of William Hutchings of Modbury in this County who faithfully Served King Charles the first of ever blessed memory as a Lieuetenant dureing the whole tyme of that horrid Rebellion which happen’d in his raigne
Humbly Sheweth
That yo[u]r pet[itione]r formerly satesfying this Co[u]rt of his said service, and that he did there receive seu[er]all wounds & hurts, did obteyne the directions & ord[e]r of this hono[u]rable bench, for a smale pention of Thirty Shillings p[er] ann[um], but neu[er] yett received the same, And now there being one Thomas Warring deceased who hath had continued vnto him for a consid[e]rable tyme by the favo[u]r of this Co[u]rt an yearly pention out of this County Stocks of three pounds, being a souldier Maimed alsoe in the service of his s[ai]d Ma[jes]tie
Yo[u]r pet[itione]r Humbly prays this Co[u]rt he being very aged weake & poore, That in consid[e]rac[i]on of his said service and constant Loyalty, and his great losses susteyned thereby That you would be plaised to grant him the pention of three pounds, which formerly was paid to the said Warring,
And yo[u]r pet[itione]r shall ever pray &c.
