The petition of Trooper Edward Taylour, Thomas Horton’s Regiment, 21 December 1648

To ye right Hono[ura]ble ye Com[mi]ttee for the Army

The humble petic[i]on of Edward Taylour maymed soldier

Sheweth

That yo[u]r pet[itione]r was in actuall service for ye Parl[iamen]t as troop[er] in Capt[ain] Samuell Garners Troope in Col[one]l Hortons Regim[en]t from ye 2o of May 1645 till ye last of September last and att ye Routing of S[i]r Henry Lingen in North wales rec[eive]d many wounds by w[hi]ch he is maymed in his left hand & soe disabled from further service as by Certificate vnder the said Captaines hand appeareth as alsoe vnder Mr Dunnes the Chirurgian.

Hee therefore most humbly prayeth yo[u]r Hono[u]rs to consider his sad condition, & to order his accounts to be stated & paid

And he shall eu[er] pray &c.

This Soulldier Edward Tayor is maymed in the left arme and hath divers wounds in his bodie:

<Att ye Com[m]ittee of Lords & Com[m]ons for the Army 21o Decemb[er] 1648.>

<That ye Com[missa]ry Gen[era]ll of ye Musters or his Deputy do forthwith certify this Com[m]ittee how ye pet[itione]r stands vpon the seuerall Musters of ye Army and doe affix the same to this petic[i]on.>
