The petition of Trooper Edmund White, Charles Fleetwood’s Regiment, 1 October 1648

<petic[i]on of Edmund white Troop[er]>
To ye right Hono[ura]ble the Com[m]ittee for ye Army.
The humble petic[i]on of Edmund White.
Sheweth
That yo[u]r pet[itione]r hath bin in actuall service for the Parl[iamen]t as troop[er] in Major Harrisons Troope in Col[one]l Fleetwoods Regim[en]t from the begin[n]ing of the new Moddell, & then in Captaine Howards Troope, & since in Capt[ain] Taylors Troope in the said Regiment, w[hi]ch Troope being com[m]anded vnder Collonell Rosseter lately in Lincolneshire, yo[u]r pet[itione]r was sore wounded eu[er] since laying vnder the Surgeons hands & hath lost the vse of his left Arme as by Certificate vnder the hand of ye said Capt[ain] Taylor & his L[ieutenan]t appeareth.
Now forasmuch as yo[u]r pet[itione]r is quite desabled from further service, & by that meanes alsoe from following his calling
He humbly beseecheth yo[u]r Hono[u]rs to consider his condic[i]on & grant him such releife as to others in his case by giueing order for stateing his accompts & ye paym[en]t of his arreares
And he shall pray &c.

<That the Com[missa]ry Gen[era]ll of the Musters or his Deputy doe forthwith certify this Com[mi]ttee how the pet[itione]r stands vpon the seu[er]all Musters of ye Army & doe affix the same to this petic[i]on.>
