The certificate for Trooper Edmund White, Charles Fleetwood’s Regiment, 14 September 1648

Whereas Edmund white as it hath aperd has ben[n] in the serues of the p[ar]lem[en]t this fiue yers; & vpward: and hath ben in actuell serues in my Troupe since February: 1645: and hath faithfully p[er]form’d his duty as a soldger and vpon Comand of his Exelency was ingadgd att Welloby vnder the Comand of Col[one]l Rosetter: with the Rest of my Troupe which is in the Regment of Col[one]l Flettwood and was thare soe wonded as Euer sence he hath Laine vnder the Corurgeons Hands: and hath Lost the vse of his Left arme & shoulder: which is attested by vs this 14o of Sept[ember] 1648o.
