The petition of Thomas Payne, Thomas Horton’s Regiment, 22 February 1649

To ye Right Hono[ura]ble ye Com[m]ittee for the Army.

The humble petic[i]on of Thomas Payne

Sheweth

That yo[u]r pet[itione]r hath faithfully serued ye Parl[iamen]t as Farrier to Captaine Burgesses Troope before Capt[ain] Foleys from the begin[n]ing of ye new Modell in ye Regim[en]t of Col[one]l Horton & in the Army of his Ex[cellen]cie the Lord Fairfax In which service yo[u]r pet[itione]r rec[eive]d a Hurt by a Horse whereby he is disabled of ye vse of his Limbes, as by Certificate appeareth & is maymed & vnable for further seruice, as is testified vnder the hand of Mr Dunn appeareth

In considerac[i]on of w[hi]ch yo[u]r pet[itione]r haueing some arreares due to him, humbly prayeth yo[u]r Hono[u]rs to giue Order for the stateing & payeing of the arreare, as to others in his condition

And he shall pray &c.

State & pay

<Att ye Com[m]ittee of Lords & Com[m]ons for the Army 22o Feb[ruary] 1648.>

<Ordered>

<That ye Com[missa]ry Gen[era]ll of the Musters or his Deputy doe forthw[i]th certify this Com[mi]ttee how the pet[itione]r stands vpon the seu[er]all Musters of the Army & doe affix the same to this petic[i]on.>
