The petition of Thomas Marshall of Thorverton, Devon, 1683

To the Right Worshipfull S[i]r William Waldron one of his Ma[jes]ties Justises of the peace for the Countie of devon & to the rest of of [sic.] his Ma[jes]ties Justises assembled att the Castell of Exon for this Quarter Sessions of the peace the humbell pettition of Thomas Marshall of Thoru[er]ton
Sheweth
That your poore petitioner Michaellmas Sessones Last past did giue into the honorabell Bench his petition Shewinge that he had Serued his Ma[jes]tie a priuate Soldier in the war of King Charles the First vnder the Comaund of Coronell Bluett & was maimed in his Eies & hath bine seuerall times in prison, Alsoe desiringe his Ma[jes]ties pencion for maimed Soldiers to be Continued to him w[hi]ch was formerly granted, And since for some time detained from him, vpon which petition there was deliuered to your poore petitioner fiue Shillinges for his pr[e]sent Supply vntill farther Order now your poore petitioner doeth not know where or to whome to make his forther Adresse but againe to the honorabell Banch hopinge there Charitie will Consider myne age & weake Condition & preuent me from Staruinge & grant me releife
May it therefore please your hon[n]ors the former petition With this & to giue Order for reliefe & to whome to repaire for the same as your Worships shall Thinke fitt & your poor petitioner Euer pray
