The petition of Thomas Biffen of Fittleton, Wiltshire, Hilary 1666

The humble pe{tition of} Thomas Bi{ffe}n of Fidlaton in this County husbandman
Sheweth
That whereas John Bushell by the order of this Sessions for this County of Wilts[hire] was a Pensioner of o[u]r Soveraigne Lord the Kinge w[hi]ch said John Bushell is deceased And whereas yo[u]r poore hath [sic.] bin a souldier vnder the Com[m]and of Collonell Pollard in the service of o[u]r late Soveraigne Lord the Kinge and his Ma[jes]ty that now is And hath bin a greate sufferer & receaved many dangerous wounds in his said Ma[jes]t[y’]s service
May it therefore please yo[u]r wor[shi]ps the pr[e]misses considered to make an order for yo[u]r poore pet[itione]r to receive the said Pension
And yo[u]r poore pet[itione]r shall pray &c
granted [illegible] to begin not till Mich[aelm]as
No[rthern] Tr[easurer] 40 s. ye first at East[er] Sess[ions] next to this Biffen
S[outhern] Tr[easurer] Nath[aniel] Beckham 40 s. p[er] ann[um] from 12 mo[nths] since
