To the Kings most excellent Ma[jes]tie

The humble petition of Roger Pen

Humbly sheweth that yo[u]r petitioner hath serued yo[u]r Ma[jes]ties father in the warrs from the begining to the end wherein he receaued severall wounds, and was deprived of the fortune he had by sequestration and plunder, and since hath bin vpon all occasions and actions for yo[u]r Ma[jes]tie in armes, as at Worcester when yo[u]r Ma[jes]tie came out of Scottland, and in the late businesse w[i]th S[i]r George Booth, in Consideration of w[hi]ch:

Yo[u]r petitioner humbley prayeth that yo[u]r Ma[jes]tie will be gratiously pleased to admitt him one of the yeamen of yo[u]r Ma[jes]ties guard and yo[u]r petitioner as in duty bound shall ever pray.
