To the Worshipfull the Justices of the peace for the County of Denbigh att their Generall quarter sessions of the peace held for the sayd County.

The humble petition of Robert John Gruffith of Llanyfydd yoma[n].

Humbly sheweing to your worshippes that your petitioner hath for seuerall yeares serued his late Ma[jes]tie Charles the first of famous memory in the late vnhappy warres in the Company of Captayne Edward Williams in the Regiment of Col[one]l Hugh Wynne and that during that service and ever since your petitioner behaued himselfe very faithfull and Loyall

Wherefore and for that your petitioner is become very poore and indigent.

May it please your worshipps to admitt your petitioner to haue and receaue a pention for his reliefe in the stead and place of one Richard ap Robert lately deseased who was a souldier in the same Company with your petitioner according to the Acte of Parliament for the reliefe of Loyall and Indigent and souldiers and your will [sic] euer pray &c.
