The petition of Richard Ulber, residence unknown, November 1648

To the right hono[ura]ble the Committee of Lords & Commons for the Army.

The humble petic[i]on of Richard Vlber Administrator of Joseph Archer Quarterm[aste]r deceased.

Sheweth

That the said Joseph Archer faithfully served the Parliam[en]t as Quarterm[aste]r in ye Regiment of foote vnder the Command of Colonell Pride in his Ex[cellen]cie Thomas Lord Fairefax his Army, and att the seige and takeing in of Bristoll was there slayne; As by the said Colonells Certificate annexed appeareth.

Now for that the said Archer was kept and maintayned att yo[u]r Pet[itione]rs charge and yo[u]r Pet[itione]r alsoe ingaged to divers p[er]sons for his the said Archers debts, and towards maintenance of his 2 fatherless children.

Yo[u]r pet[itione]r most humbly prayeth, That this honor[a]ble Com[mi]ttee would be pleased to giue Order for the stateing of the said Accompt, as alsoe for paym[en]t of that small arreare to yo[u]r pet[itione]r, the same not exceeding 2 musters to pr[e]serue his said Children from perishing.

And hee shall euer pray &c.
