The humble Petic[i]on of Richard Malam James Brooke Roberte Lownes Richard Bulkeley & [illegible] Edward Strongithurn
<Sheweth>
That whereas yo[u]r poore Petic[i]on[e]rs being vnder the Com[m]and of Capt[ain] Thomas Malbone in the Regim[en]t of Col[one]l Croxton and in actuall Service at the greate victory obtayned against the Scottish Army at Worcester and are sore Maymed and wounded in the publiqu[e] Service and seeing that they haue little or noething at all to subsist on but their hand Labo[u]r and by reason of their wounds being now vtterly disabled to accrew and gett their liueings by any Manuall Employm[en]ts and eu[er] since bin in want and Misery
May it therefore please yo[u]r wor[sh]ipps to take the deplorable Condic[i]ons of yo[u]r Petic[i]on[e]rs into yo[u]r favo[ur]able & Charitable Considerac[i]ons and grant yo[u]r Order that yo[u]r poore Petic[i]on[er]s may bee admitted as Penc[i]on[e]rs and thereby bee allowed such Considerable annuall Penc[i]ons as yo[u]r wor[sh]ips [illegible] shall thinke fitt
