To his Ma[jes]ties Justices of the Peace the Hon[oura]ble Bench assembled at the Castle of Exon for the Countie of Deuon

The humble peticon of Richard Garnesey of Newton Abbott wostedcoamer

Humbly sheweth vnto your Hon[ou]rs That whereas your poore petic[i]oner before the late warrs liued by his trade and calling Who was in the tyme of the warrs foot poast for his Highnes the late Kings Ma[jes]tie deceased, & being sent with others, towards Plymouth with Carriage of the great twisted gun, after your peticoner had discharged his messuage & trust, towards your peticoners comming home certaine souldiers fell vpon your peticoner with their swords and wounded your peticoner in diuers places & his arme & hand disabled for any imploym[en]t euer since to the vtter ouerthrow of your poore peticoners wife & seauen children, whereof three deceased since. May it therefore please this Hon[oura]ble Bench the pr[e]misses considered that your poore peticoner may haue some considerable relieffe, as other maimed souldiers in that case made & pr[o]uided According to the wisedome of this Honorable bench

And your poore peticoners wife and children shall bee ever bound to pray for your Honours &c.
