The petition of Quartermaster John Chapman, Charles Fleetwood’s Regiment, 26 December 1648

To ye Right hono[ura]ble ye Com[m]ittee for ye Army

The humble petic[i]on of John Chapman.

Sheweth

That yo[u]r pet[itione]r hath faithfully serued ye parl[iamen]t as Corporall vnder Major Coleman in ye Regim[en]t of Horse vnder the Com[m]and of Col[one]l Fleetwood from ye 22o of Aprill 1645 vntill the 14o of June 1647 att w[hi]ch tyme he was mustered Quarterm[aste]r & hath p[er]formed his duty in that place eu[er] since till he was wounded before Colchester where hee lost ye vse of one of his Leggs being not fitt for seruice as by Certificate vnder ye said Majors hand appeareth

In considerac[i]on of his sad condic[i]on by meanes thereof, hee humbly prayeth yo[u]r Hono[u]rs to giue Order for ye stateing of his accounts & paym[en]t of his arreares.

And he shall pray &c.

<Petic[i]on of Quarter Master Chapman being a maymed man.>

<The s[ai]d John Chapman his musters are drawn vp and Certified to the 15th Jan[uary] last with the rest of Maior Colmans troope and that Certifficat is already in the treasureis handes where it will appear that he standes allowed as Corporall and after Quarterm[aste]r to the said troope.>
