The petition of Nicholas Randoll of Easton, Wiltshire, Michaelmas 1661

To the right hon[ou]r[a]ble & right Wor[shi]pp[fu]ll the Justices of the Peace sitting at Marlebrough in the generall sessions there holden for ye county of Wilt[shire]
The humble petic[i]on of Nicholas Randoll of Eason in County afores[ai]d
Sheweeth [sic.]
Vnto this hon[ou]r[a]ble and Wor[shi]p[fu]ll Bench that yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[e]r serued his late Ma[jes]tie of euer blessed memory in the late warr for the terme of 4 yeares or thereabouts. In the Regim[en]t of Col[one]l Gadolphin of foote in Maior Trewayes company And in that seruice receiued seuerall wounds especially one in the left hand that hath disabled yo[u]r poore pet[itione]r of the vse thereof And the more by reason the winter season benumeth the blood thereof haueing not free passage through the veines:
Yo[u]r poore pet[itione]r haueinge a wife & family is in noe manner able to p[ro]uide for himselfe & them, so that theire condic[i]on is very sad & miserable vnderstandinge that releife may be had by this hon[ou]r[a]ble & Wor[shi]p[fu]ll Bench by way of Pencheon
Doe therefore most humbly Implore yo[u]r gratious eye of pitty and compassion And looke on yo[u]r poore pet[itione]rs sad & dispicable condic[i]on And graunt to yo[u]r poore pet[itione]r such a Pencheon that may in some measure be assistant towards the releife of yo[u]r poore pet[itione]r and his family, the truth of the pr[e]misses a certificate here vnto anexed will manifest.
And yo[u]r poore p[e]t[itione]r as in duty bound shall euer pray &c
