The petition of Mary Burden of Corsham, Wiltshire 13 April 1659

To the Right Wor[shipfu]ll the Justic[e]s of Peace at ye gen[er]all Quarter Sessions of the Peace holden at ye Devizes Aprill 13th 1659.
The humble Petic[i]on of Mary Burden of Corsham widowe
Humbly sheweth That whereas yo[u]r Pet[itione]r & her Children are in a very lowe Condic[i]on, her penc[i]on of 4 li. p[er] ann[um] having ben taken from her these Twelve monethes last past: Soe that now yo[u]r Pet[itione]r hath noe Penc[i]on at all. Neither hath she received any thing out of Ireland in leiwe of her husbands debenters: And yf any chance to come it will but pay her debts.
She humbly prayeth yo[u]r Wor[shi]pps to be pleased to allow her the arreres of her Penc[i]on for the yeare last past, And to Continue the same yearely Penc[i]on vnto her for her releife. And yo[u]r Pet[itione]r shall ever pray for yo[u]r Wor[shi]pps health & happynesse.
