The order for Mary Bourden of Corsham, Wiltshire, 4 July 1655

By his Highnesse the Lord Protector.

Being satisfied that Captaine William Bourden died in the Parliam[en]ts service in Ireland & that he left behind him a Wife and many Children in a very poore Condic[i]on and his Wife much in debt & that he first tooke vp Armes in the County of Wilts[hire]: It is Our Will and pleasure and We doe hereby Order That the [illegible] Justices of the Peace for the County of Wilts[hire] Doe allow vnto the Widow of the said Captaine Bourden a Competent Pention for the maintenance of her Selfe and Children.

Given att White=Hall the fourth day of July 1655.

Allowed v li. from the Th[reasur]er of maymed souldiers for the North p[ar]t out of the surplusage of his Accompts & in Easter Sess[ion]s next the Court will further Consider thereof Easter S[ession]s allowed 4 li. quarterly to be p[ai]d
