The petition of John Yale of Chirk, Denbighshire, 1670

To the Right Wor[shipfu]ll the Justice of the peace at this p[rese]nt Gen[er]all Sessions of the peace for the County of Denbigh.
The Humble petic[i]on of Lievten[a]nt John Yale
Humbly Shewinge
That he hath served his late Ma[jes]tye Charles the first in the late warres for many yeares in the Qualitye of a Lie[ute]n[a]nt of a foote Company in w[hi]ch tyme he hath had seu[er]all wounds & seu[er]all tymes beene taken & suffered hard impriso[n]m[en]ts beinge grown aged & decayed in estate by reason of many great losses he sustayned by beinge plundred & otherwise as appe[ar]eth by the certificate annexed.
The pr[e]misses considered humbly prayeth there bein being no other pr[e]sent vacancie that he may be admitted to succeed John Puleston of Gresford gent[leman] in his pention if it pleaseth god that he doe survive him.
