To the Right Wo[rshipfu]ll the Justices att the Generall Sessions held in the Goale Garden neere the Castle of Exon.
The Humble Petic[i]on of John Pester of Sydbury
Humbly sheweth
That your petisioner vollontary servied the p[ar]liament in the Garison of Lyme for the space of two yeeres and more and receiued A Shott in his ledge and had his musket brocke in service and the peces of the stocke strock his eyes that one of his eyes Rotted in his head and the other eye sight is allsoe allmost Lost and the same tyme his hand was brocken by meanes of w[hi]ch wo[u]ndes your petetion[e]r is unabell to gett his Liueing and Lyke to end his dayes in Greate meserye vnlese some Charitabell Course to tacken for him
Your peteicioner Humbelly prayeth y[ou]r Honno[r]s to take y[ou]r petisicon[er]s sad condision in to y[ou]r Consideration and to Giue order that some Competentcie may be allowed mee out of the publyck Treasuery of this County for maymed Soulders and y[ou]r peticion[e]r shall euer pray for y[ou]r honno[r]s
