Theise are to Certifie All home it may Concerne that John Pester beinge p[ur]sued by the Constabels of Sidbury often to be sent Fourth in service for the Kinges p[ar]tie against p[ar]liam[en]tt Garrisons as Plymouth and Lyme att Last hee was taken and preaste for the service aforesaid wherevppon hee wached his opportunitie and Ranne from his Conductors and Gott in to the Garrison of Lime where hee Continued vntell hee was disabled by an acsedent of the breackeinge of his muskett that strocke him in his eyes that the one eie Rotted in his head And now the other eie is much dekeyed allsoe And the man is Lyke to be starke blynde very shorttly wee the Inhabitants of Sidbury doe Certifie This one our owne Knowledge and desier hee may be loocked on accordinge to his Good affection and Readynes to Ingage his Lyfe and Lymes For the service of the state in wittnes hereof we haue sitt our hands this 26th day of September 1649
