To the Right Worshipfull his Ma[jes]ties Justices of the Peace assembling at the monethly meeting holden for the Hundred of Edisbury
The humble Petition of John Peacocke of Barrow in the County aforesaid

That yo[u]r petitio[ne]r for divers yeares hath served his late Ma[jes]tie in the late warrs as a Soldier under the comand of Col[one]l Robert Werden and in the Company or Troope of Major Phillipps.
That yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r for his good affection and service to his said Ma[jes]tie hath been a great sufferer and by reason thereof and of divers old distempers contracted in the time of his service and alsoe through age is very much disabled to follow his wonted labour for the support of himselfe and poore family whereby hee and his family are reduced into a very low and poore condic[i]on.
May it therefore please yo[u]r worshipps to take the premisses into tender considerac[i]on and to admitt yo[u]r Petic[i]o[ne]r to haue the benefit of one of his Ma[jes]ties Pention[e]rs when as any vacancy shall admitt thereof for the better support and releife of yo[u]r petic[i]o[ne]r in his old age and weake condic[i]on
And yo[u]r Petic[i]o[ne]r shall ever pray &c
