The petition of John Lloyd of Gresford, Denbighshire, 10 January 1665

<The Humble Petic[i]on of John Lloyd of Gresford parishe, Formerly sould[ie]r vnder ye com[m]aund of Col[one]l John Robinson>
To ye worshipps ye Justices of Peace for this present qu[a]rter sessions att Wrexham for ye County of Denbigh.
Humbly Sheweth:
That yo[u]r Peticon[e]r hath been for A Certayne tyme; a souldier To his Ma[jes]tie King Charles ye First (of euer Blessed Memorie) vnder the Com[m]and of ye aboue Mentioned Collonel; as it doth more at Large appeare; By the Annexed Certifyecate, And Dureing his Contenuance in ye said Service; hee Carried himself as a Faithfull subject; in soe much yt he receiued seu[er]all wounds though your petticon[e]r is now driven vnto a sad; And, Deplorable Condition and Like to perishe, if nott releiued; by your worshipps. The pr[e]misses Considered:
Your petticon[e]r (therefore) humbly prayeth that your worshipps would be Gratiously pleasd; for to prescribe; a way; whereby yo[u]r petticon[e]r may bee allowed a pension; towards his mayntaineance; as other haue; in ye like Case:
And your petticon[e]r, as in duty bound; shall euer pray &
