To the Worshipfull his Mai{esty’s} Justices of the Peace at the Qu{arter} Sessions for this Countie of Chester Holden att Middlewich:
The humble Pet[it]ion of John Hulme of Fulchaw in the Countie of Chester Labourrer:

That yo[u]r Pet[it]ioner Eighteene yeares since or theareabouts was a listed Souldier, In the Regiment of Col[one]l Thomas Leigh of Adlington and vnder the Com[m]and of Capt[ain] John Dauenport, In the Searvice of his Late Maiestie Against Col[one]l Robert Duckenfeild who was Imployde for the Parliament att Maccleffeild Against Col[one]l Leigh and his Partie, where yo[u]r Peti[tione]r receiued Many wounds on his bodie and also of the vse of his Right hand In that seruice to his vtter vndoeinge, as doth Apeare In a Certificate here vnto Anexed vnder the hands and Seales of two Officers that are now remayneinge Aliue Al the other beinge deceased longe since:
Yo[u]r Peti[ti]o[ne]r humbly prayes that this Hono[ura]ble Bench would bee pleased to grant yo[u]r Order to the Treasurer, that he may haue A pention alowed him toward the relife of himselfe his Wife And Children, as other of his Maiesties Souldiers haue in that Case:
