To the right wor[shi]p[fu]ll the Justices of the peace for the Countie of Wiltes[hire] assembled att the Devizes att the generall Quarter Sessions of the peace there holden for the Countie aforesaid the Eigth day of Aprill 1662
The humble petic[i]on of John Braxstone of Warminster in the Countie of Wiltes[hire] Feltmaker
Sheweth vnto yo[u]r Worr[shi]ps that your petic[i]oner was a souldier for the kinges Ma[jes]tie vnder the Comaund of Collonell James Longe for three yeeres and more and hath received seu[er]all Wounds in the service one Whereof in one of his Leggs which is not yet cured nor never like to bee by which meanes hee cannott followe his Trade and is much impoverished to the vtter Ruine of him his Wife and Five Children as by a Certificate herevnto annexed itt doth and may appeare,
May it therefor please yo[u]r Wor[shi]pps to comiserate the Condic[i]on and poore estate of yo[u]r petic[i]oner & to allowe him some yeerely penc[i]on as others vppon the like occac[i]on haue had and yo[u]r p[e]tic[i]oner as dutie binedeth him shall ever pray &c
