To the right ho[noura]ble the Justices of peace assembled at Nether Knuptsford for the holding of the Quarter sessions for this Countye
The petic[i]on of Joane Mort of Weuerham within this Countye widow.
Sheweth to yo[u]r honors that yo[u]r petic[ioner’s] husband John Mort of Weuerham aforesayd having [illegible] beene a firme man for the parliam[en]t ever since the beginning of these warrs going into Scotland vnder the com[m]and of Capt[ain] Edward Barker in the Regim[en]t of Col[one]l Daniel dyed in Scotland in June last leaving yo[u]r petic[ioner] & a poore fatherles childe hauing noe meanes to subsist vpon & yo[u]r petic[ioner] being very weake & diseased & shee & her poore child likely to vndergoe great miserye vnles yo[u]r hono[u]rs favo[u]rs bee shewed to yo[u]r petic[ioner] herein
May it therefore please yo[u]r hono[u]rs to afford to yo[u]r petic[ioner] the same allowance that is alloted to distressed widowes in the same kind And yo[u]r petic[ioner] as in duty bound shall pray &c
