These are to certifie all whom itt may Concerne yt John Morte a late Inhabitant in ye Parish of Weeverham in ye County of Chester did ingage as a priuate souldyer in the Company of Capt[ain] Edward Barker & in ye Regim[en]t vnder my Com[m]ande for ye Seruice of Scotlande, and there dyed of a violent Flux & Feauor by reason of ye hardships he indured All w[hi]ch I testifie vnd[e]r my hande & seale February 2d 1651.
