The petition of Hugh Eyton of Llanferres in Yale, Denbighshire, 3 October 1665

To the Right worshipfull the Justices of the Peace of the County of Denbigh

The humble Petic[i]on of Hugh Eyton of the parish of Llanverres in Yale in the said County labourer.

In most humble manner sheweth to your worships, that your Petic[i]oner hath (from the beginning of the Scotish to Insurrecc[i]on to the end of the warres in IEngland) served as a foote souldier in the Regiment of Col[one]l Rob[er]t Broughton as may appeare by the annexed certificate in w[hi]ch said service your poore petic[i]oner hath been shot in the left leg whereby he is become lame & maymed & hath nothing to subsist vpon but the benevolence of his charitable neighboures.

The pr[e]misses considered your Petic[i]oner humbly Com[m]itteth himselfe to your worship charitable considerac[i]on & Prayeth that your worships will be pleased to admitt  him to receaue a Penc[i]on as the rest of the maymed souldier doe

And your Petic[i]oner shall ever pray.
