The petition of Henry Crooke of Marlborough, Wiltshire, Easter 1662

To the right Worshipfull his Ma[jes]ties Justices of the peace att the Gennerall Quarter Sessions held att the Devises
The Humble petic[i]on of Henry Corooke Gent[leman] of Mallborough in this County
<Sheweth> that your peticioner Served his Late Ma[jes]tie of ever Blessed [sic.] as a Captaine Liften[ant] vnder the Command of S[i]r Henry Coker Col[one]l And vnder the Command of Col[one]l William Pertte att Henberrywash fighte receaved divers wounds & had 3 yeares imprisonment by Col[one]l Pride & have lost above 1000 li by reason thereof, your petticioner being now growne old & hath not where withall to subsist by reason of his Greate losses Humbly desiers your worshipps to Consider his Condic[i]on and to grante him some relife by way of penticon
And yo[u]r pettic[i]oner shall ever pray &c
The substance of this pettic[i]on aboves[ai]d being in his Ma[jes]ties Service vnder my Comaund I Testifie vnder my hand & seale
