The petition of Evan Jeffrey of Gyffylliog, Denbighshire, 13 July 1669

To the Justices of the peace for the Countie of Denbighe.
The humble Petic[i]on of Evan Jeffrey whoe hath beene a souldier for manye yeares in his Ma[jes]ties service vnder the Com[m]aund of S[i]r Thomas Salusburye [illegible] Barronett and served a longe time in that Regiment. And by reason of his wounds receaved in that service is nowe become vnable to worcke for his liveinge to mayntayne himselfe and twoe smale Children. Therefore he desireth yo[u]r wor[shi]pps to take it into yo[u]r Considerac[i]on his deplorable condic[i]on, And that he may haue some reliefe, out of the maymed souldiers mize, he haveinge a Certificate vnder the hands of seu[er]all Inhabitans [sic] of the p[ar]ishe of Gyffyllioge beinge heerevnto annexed, that his petic[i]on is trueth, and it is a deede of Charitie for to relieve him, w[hi]ch is left to be graunted by the seu[er]all Justices Peace [sic] of this pr[e]sent Quarter sessions held for the Countie of Denbighe at Ruthin the 7th of October 166 in the xxth yeare of the reigne of our sou[er]aigne Lord Kinge Charles the second & in yeare of our Lord 1668: & for soe doeinge he will ever pray
