The certificate for Evan Jeffrey of Gyffylliog, Denbighshire, 1 October 1668

Wee whose names are herevnto subscribed being most of vs inhabitants of the parish of Gyffylliog doe hereby Certifie to all whome it may concerne that the bearer hereof Evan Jeffrey hath beene a souldier for many yeares together in his Late Ma[jes]ties service

And is now by reason of his wounds receav’d in that service become vnable to worke for his Living to mantaine himselfe & two smale children wherefore wee humbly conceave him to be a greate obiect of charitie & that it is verie fitt that he should haue some reliefe out of the maymed souldiers mize there being none in the fores[ai]d parish that has any share at all out of the said mize. Dat
