The petition of Edward Lathom of Burscough, Lancashire, 21 July 1674

To ye right wor[shipfu]ll his ma[jes]ties Justices of peace and Quor[um] at this pr[e]sent Sessions at Orms[kir]k July ye 21 Anno D[o]m[in]i 1674
The humble pet[ition] of Edw[ard] Lathom of Burscough
Humbly Sheweth
That yo[u]r pet[itione]r haueing a Former Ord[e]r for a smale Pention as an Indigent soldier did but Rec[eive] ye s[ai]d pention For three yeares And then yo[u]r pet[itione]r maried & gott some estate by his wife and never since yo[u]r pet[itione]r Looked for his s[ai]d pention And now: his wife being dead yo[u]r pet[itione]r lost ye Afores[ai]d estate And now haueing neither Reall nor p[er]sonall estate to liue vpon & groeing into yeares besids looseing the vse of one of his Armes in ye time of ye late vnfortunate warr is not able to subsist
The pr[e]misses Considered yo[u]r pet[itione]r prayeth yo[u]r good wor[shi]pps to take his Condic[i]on into yo[u]r reall Considerat[i]on & graunt to yo[u]r pet[itioner] a pencion w[i]th an Augmentac[i]on & as in duty bound yo[u]r pet[itione]r will ever pray
to haue it at next account
