The petition of Edmond Suddell of Fishwick, Lancashire, Michaelmas 1660

To the right wor[shi]p[fu]ll his Ma[jes]ties Justices of the peace and Quor[um] now sitteinge at Preston.
The humble petic[i]on of Edmond Suddell of Fishewicke.
Humbly sheweth that yo[u]r petic[i]oner for a longe time was a soldier in his late ma[jes]ties of famous memorie service vnder the com[m]and of the Late lord Mollneux & this pr[e]sent lord Mollineux and in the same service received seu[er]all wounds by reason whereof yo[u]r petic[i]on[er] cannot goe out the high way w[i]thout one to bee his leader, And that in respect of the service wherein yo[u]r petic[i]on[er] served he hath and [illegible] the respect of his ould age & want of sight yo[u]r pet[itione]r is likely to starve
Wherefore yo[u]r pet[itione]r humbly beseecheth yo[u]r wor[shi]ps to take his pore condic[i]on into considerac[i]on and therein to make such speedie order for the reliefe of yo[u]r pet[itione]r to bee had in Fishewicke wherein yo[u]r pet[itione]r was borne beinge w[it]hin the parrishe of Preston or otherwise as to Lawe & iustice to yo[u]r wor[shi]ps may seeme more convenient, And yo[u]r pet[itione]r as in dutie bound will ever pray for yo[u]r wor[shi]ps &c.
