To ye Honn[ou]r[a]ble ye Judge of ye Gennerall quarter Sessions held at the Castle of Exon for the Sayd County and the Rest of ye Honn[ou]r[a]ble Bench the petition of Christopher Mathewes of Cullumton:
<Humbly Sheweth>
That yo[u]r poore petitioner was a Souldyer in his Ma[jes]tyes Service of Blessed Memory vnder the Command & in the Troope of Captayn Hancocke, in w[hi]ch service y[ou]r petition[e]r Receaued Severall Woundes in the Seigeing Lyme by meanes whereof now yo[u]r petitioner beinge very old is vtterly disabled to gett his Liuelyhood and Subsistance &c, Therefore yo[u]r petition[e]r doth hereby Humbly pray and earnestly beseech yo[u]r Honn[ou]rs and Worships to vouchsafe of yo[u]r goodnesse and leanycy towards him to giue him a pension Answerable to his age and necessity as other of his Ma[jes]tyes maymed souldyers haue and doe Receiue of and from the Honn[ou]r[a]ble Bench quarterly And yo[u]r petition[e]r as duty bynds him Shall & ever will pray &c.
