Wee whose names are herevnder subscrybde doe hereby Certify his Ma[jesty’]s Justices of the peace whom these shall or may Concerne &c, That the bearer hereof Christopher Mathewes of Cullumton Blacksmyth was a Farrier vnder the Command of Captaine Hancocke in S[i]r John Barklyes Regiment in his Ma[jes]tyes Service Wherein hee Receiued Two Woundes one in or near his elbowe & the other in his Thombe by meanes whereof now hee is growen old hee is very much disabled to gett his Liuelyhood & Subsistance In Testimony hereof wee haue herevnto Sett our hands the Thirteenth day of January Anno Dom[ini] 1683: Anno Regni R[egi]s Caroli S[e]c[un]di nunc, Anglie &c., Trecesimo quinti: XXXvtie
