The humble petic[i]on of Anne Merriman widowe late wife of John Merriman late of Tollerton, Elizabeth Crowther widowe the late wife of Thomas Crowther of Knottesford & Katherine Peake widowe the late wife of William Peake of Millington dec[ease]d
Shewe
That yo[u]r pet[itione]rs late husbands were slaine in Scotland in the States service being in Col[one]l Daniells Regiment vnder the Com[m]aund of Capt[ain] Hugh Birtley as may appeare among other things by a certificate or letter herevnto annexed sent from the s[ai]d Captaine And y[ou]r pet[itione]rs are left very poore, & in such great necessity as they and theire Children are like to p[er]ish for want if not relived by this ho[noura]ble Bench
May itt therefore please y[ou]r hono[u]rs to extend y[ou]r vsuall clemency vnto the pet[itione]rs and to admitt them severally [illegible] Penc[i]oners, whereby they may receive such sume or sumes of money quarterly as in y[ou]r Judgm[en]ts shall seeme meete soe that they & theire Children may not starve for want of reliefe
And y[ou]r pet[itione]rs shall eu[er] pray &c
