To my loueinges [sic.] frendes

Ellin Hardie wife of William of the Cros striter Alies Webster late wife of Richard Websters Ann Merrieman late wife of John Merrieman Ales Pence late wife of William Pence Elezebeth Crouther late wife of Thomas Crouther These are to signefie vnto you that his Exselencie the lord Generrall Crumwell hath taken in to consideracion the sad condiscion of all such as haue lost theare husbandes in the seruis in Scotland ore that died theare and hath sente vnto the debetie Lift Tennants that theare shall be a lowed out of the tresurie such meanes as hath beine a lowed to others which are in the same condission, I would haue you to Joyne all to gether and goe to som of the debetie Li[eftenan]ts and make your cause knowne and I dout not but the[y] will a low you as muche as others haue had which are in the same Condission I would haue you to write to me by the next that I may know what you haue dun in the busenes make sure to Joyne to gether thus with my Cynd [sic.] Respects to you all I Rest and will euer remene your asured frend
