The petition of Amary Hutchinson of Salford, Lancashire, Midsummer 1657

To the Right worshipfull the Justices of peace and Quor[um] att Manchester
The humble petic[i]on of Amary Hutchinson of Salford widowe
Humbly sheweth that yo[u]r peticinor hath beene an Inhabitant within the said towne ever since she was borne and yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]rs husband being presed into Ireland for the service of this Comonwealth and there yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]rs husband lost his life in the said Service and left yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r with one litle Infant destitute of any meanes whereby she might subsist with life yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r obtained an order from this Court for the Releefe out of the said towne of Sal p[ar]ish of Manchester but they neglecting the Order yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r hath had noe manteynance wher[e]by yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r and her infant are likely to starve
yo[u]r poore petici[o]ners humble desire is that yo[u]r worships would bee pleased to Order what you in yo[u]r discreation shall thinke fitt for yo[u]r poore peticion[e]r & her Child & that she may Receive it wickly & yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r will ever pray &c
