The humble petic[i]on of Alice Mercer widow
Sheweth
That yo[u]r petic[i]oners husband Edward Mercer having faithfully served his late Ma[jes]tie in his warres was slaine in the said service and for the relief of yo[u]r petic[i]oner This Court was formerly pleased to order her a yearely penc[i]on of Fifty & Two shillings for the maintenance of her self and poore Children otherwise destitute w[hi]ch penc[i]on among many others was by a former order suspended
Yo[u]r petic[i]oner humbly praies yt in respect of the great poverty of yo[u]r petic[i]oner & yt according to the late Act of Parliam[en]t w[hi]ch limitts a provic[i]on for ye widowes of those p[er]sons yt were slaine in his Ma[jes]ties service And forasmuch as yo[u]r petic[i]oner hath certificates of her husbands being slaine in his Ma[jes]ties service, shee may receive yo[u]r wor[shi]pps order for ye renewing of her penc[i]on
It is referred to the Treasurer of the East division to consider her out of the Surplusage.
Shee is to haue her penc[i]on of 52 s. for ye yeare ensuing
