The petition of Alice Legg, residence unknown, 17 March 1649

To ye Right Hono[ura]ble ye Com[mi]ttee for ye Army

The humble petic[i]on of Alice Legg, widow & Adm[inistrat]r[i]x of John Legg dec[eased].

Sheweth

That yo[u]r pet[itione]rs husband hath faithfully serued ye Parliam[en]t as Corporall in Col[one]l Butlers Troope, afterwards in Captaine Mollineux & since in Capt[ain] Greenes Troope in Col[one]l Hortons Regim[en]t from ye 5th of Aprill 1645 to ye 17th of Aug[us]t 1648 & was then slayne in actuall seruice against S[i]r Henry Lingon as by Certificate vnder the said Col[one]l Hortons hand app[eare]th.

In regard of w[hi]ch there being some small arrears due for his seruice yo[u]r pet[itione]r humbly prayeth yo[u]r Hono[u]rs to giue order for the stateing yo[u]r pet[itione]rs husbands accompts & paym[en]t thereof.

And shee shall pray &c.

<That ye Com[m]issary Generall of ye Musters or his Deputy doe forthwith certify this Com[mi]ttee how ye pet[itione]rs husband John Legg, late of Capt[ain] Mollineux Troope in Col[one]l Hortons Regim[en]t whoe was slayne against S[i]r Henry Lingon, stood vpon ye seu[er]all Musters of ye Army & doe affix the same to this petic[i]on.>
