The order for William Parker of Buckland Filleigh, Devon, 15 July 1684

Ad Gen[er]alem Session[es] pacis d[omi]ni Regis tent[um] apud Castrum Exon in et p[ro] Com[itatus] pr[e]d[icti] decimo quinto die Julii Anno R[egni] R[egius] Caroli s[e]c[un]di nunc Anglie &c xxxvio 1684.
Upon the humble petic[i]on of William Parker of Buckland Filly unto this Courte setting forth that hee faithfully served his late Ma[jes]tie King Charles the first in the late unhappy warrs, And hath alsoe served his present Ma[jes]tie King Charles the second as a souldier in Tangier for diverse yeares by meanes whereof hee (being now six[ty] eight yeares of age) is become very impotent & altogeather unable to get his livelyhood, This Courte doth therefore desire the Justices of the peace of that divission or any two of them to call the officers of the said parish before them & cause the said officers of Buckland Filly aforesaid to give the said William Parker such reliefe as they shall judge needfull, And upon Certificate thereof made unto this Courte att next Sessions, This Courte will grante him a yearly pencion for his more comfortable subsistance.
