The order for Robert Anderton of Stony Stratford, Buckinghamshire 8 April 1703

Vpon readding the Petic[i]on of Robert Anderton of Stonny Stratford now a Penc[i]on[e]r of this County exhibitted to this Co[u]rt the Last Gen[er]all Quarter sessions holden for this County therein setting forth that hee had served his Late sacred Maj[es]ty King Charles the first in the Late Civill Warrs & thereby had beene thereby a greate sufferer & much wounded & disabled & that in considerac[i]on of such his service & sufferings he had received beene formerly allowed a Penc[i]on of 40 s. p[er] ann[um] which had beene p[ai]d him out of the County stock that he is now above 80 yeares of age & vncapable to help himselfe & now further sheweing to this Co[u]rt that he is in soe meane & Lowe Condic[i]on yt he of necessity must inevitably p[er]ish vnlesse relieve & prayeing that his penc[i]on might be augmented vnlesse relieved by the bounty of this Co[u]rt & prayeing yt his Penc[i]on being be Augmented Wherevpon this Co[u]rt takeing into theire Conisderac[i]on the Case & Circumstances of ye s[ai]d Anderton & finding the Allegac[i]on in his s[ai]d Petic[i]on to be true doe It is thereupon Ordered by this Co[u]rt That the Trea[sure]rs for this County or one of them doe out of the moneys Doe out of the County moneys in theire hands pay vnto the s[ai]d Robert Anderton as an Augmentac[i]on to the Penc[i]on of Forty shillings he now hath the further yearely sume of Forty shillings by q[uarte]rely paym[en]ts att the att the respectively eu[er]y the Gen[er]all Quarter sessions of the Peace to be holden for this County the first paym[en]t theraf to beginn & be made this p[rese]nt Sessions & soe to continue from Sessions to Sessions vntill further Order.
