The petition of Robert Anderton of Stony Stratford, Buckinghamshire, 14 January 1703

To the Right Honourable William Lord Cheyne Viscount Newhaven & other her Maj[es]ties Justices of the Peace for the County of Buck[ingham]s[hire] The Humble petition of Robert Anderton of Stonny Stratford in the said County Most Humbly Sheweth.

That yo[u]r petitioner haveing beene an old soldier of that sacred Martyr King Charles the first of Blessed memory and being in his said Maj[es]ties service A great sufferer & wounded & disabled hath had a Pension of Forty shillings p[er] ann[um] duly paid him for many yeares towards his subsistence (being Eighty yeares of Age & vpwards) and altogether vncapable of getting any thing towards a Livelyhood humbly beggs pardon for pr[e]sumeing to Implore yo[u]r good Lordshipps and yo[u]r Worshipps to augm[en]t of the aforesaid pension And Yo[u]r Petition[e]r shall (as in duty bound) for ever pray &c.
