The order for John Aillsopp, Wiltshire, 23 April 1650

Ad gen[er]alis Session[es] pacis Com[itatus] p[re]d[ict]i tent[em] apud Devizes in ead[em] Com[itatus] vicesimo ter[ci]o die Aprilis Anno D[o]m[in]i 1650.
Whereas this Court is informed as well by the humble petic[i]on of John Aillsopp as allsoe by the Cirtificate vnder the hand of Collonell Ludlowe that he hath s[er]ved the state as a troop[e]r vnder his com[m]and in w[hi]ch service at Newe Sarum in this County he received a dangerous Cutt athwart his face by reason whereof he hath lost his eyes sight & beinge not of abilitye to relieve himselfe This Court doth allowe him a penc[i]on of Eight pounds p[er] Ann[um] to be paid him quarterlye by the Tre[asur]er for relieffe of maimed souldiers & marrin[er]s for the south p[ar]te of this County the first payment to begin at Midsomer next & to continewe vntill this Court shall see cause to alter the same.
