The certificate for William West of Wanborough, Wiltshire, 28 October 1654
These are to certifie whom it may concerne, that the bearer hereof Will[ia]m West of Wanborow in the County of Wilts[hire] serued vnder the commaund of Captaine Will[ia]m Francklin in the Regim[en]t of Col[one]l Fines, And in that seruice receiued a dangerous wound in soe much that there was litel p[ro]pabillity [sic.] of life, but it pleased God to pr[e]serue his life, but vtterly vnable to labor thereby to pr[e]serue his family from perishinge; haueinge nothing left now to support himselfe by reason of his greate expences in the curinge of the said wounds receiued, doe craue this my Certificate to w[hi]ch I haue subscribed my name this eight & twenteth [sic.] day of October 1654.
