The certificate for William Ratcliffe of Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire, and Roberte Dawson, Staffordshire, 17 September 1652

Foreasmuch as Rob[er]te Dawson & Will[ia]m Ratcliffe [three illegible words] the bearers hereof have latelie landed att Liu[e]rpoole port and brought a Testimonial of theire discharge from the Service of Ireland, vnder the hand of Major Jones Deputy Gou[e]rnor of Dublin w[i]th [?Lib[er]tie] for his theire transportation into England, these are therefore to desire yow and eu[e]rie on of yow to whom these pr[e]sents shall come not to molest or troble the said Rob[er]te Dawson & Will[ia]m Ratcliffe in their trauils to Stafford (where they ar limitted to bee w[i]thin foure dayes after the date hereof) But rather to relieue them in theire necessitie And w[i]thall yow be Constables of eu[e]rie Towne where they shall come are desered to helpe them w[i]th [two illegible words] lodging in convenient tyme so that they trauell the direct way to Stafford aforesaid, not doing any thin{g} contrarie to the lawes of this Nation.
