The certificate for William Adderton of St Botolph Without Aldgate, Middlesex, 17 September 1662

To all Constables, and other His Majesties Officers, to whom these presents shall come and concern.

<Midd[le]s[ex] s[ession]s> We Justices of the Peace for the said County, having perused the Certificates of William Adderton both of his Loyalty and Service to his Majesty in the late Wars, and of his great Poverty and Indigency, and conceiving him very capable of Relief, according to the intent of the Act of Parliament; But for that he was an Inhabitant within the County of Chester before he took up Armes, and not to be relieved by Pension here and he being desirous to repair thither, These are therefore to require you and every of you to suffer the said William Adderton to passe your several Parishes to Tarven in the said County of Chester he behaving himself orderly, and to Relieve him in his said passage with supplies, as his necessity may require, we conceive will be a work of Charity, in respect of his great sufferings for His Majesties Cause.
